Is it me or that this site is boring these days !?!?!?Category • Living in Korea (Life)Certainly not intending this as a flame, but is this site becoming a little dull these days ?? I mean really .... any thing on here only happens in Seoul ..... no other part of Korea has any real representation on here that we can visibly see as such. I know that I am guilty of organising stuff and then pulling out for personal reasons at the last minute. Some of you may see that as a cop out or whatever. Well ..... you have your opinion. Sure we have had a few crazies come on here lately too. SO WHAT ??? Some have suggested that the site crazies have started making other people go into their shells and not wanna do shit. Crazies on a shite should be viewed as such, they are just crazies !!!!!! crazies enhance, manipulate and challenge us to think in Different ways.... you know.....take us out of comfort zone, prod us and break the status quo of it all. They are of so much benefit to us !!!!! They really should not preclude people from wanting to do things or indeed organise things. Crazies can turn a nice Dinner into ONE DAMN F--KING WILDA_S PARTY !!!!!!!!!! Like Lennon should have sung ...GIVE CRAZIES A CHANCE. Another thing ...People need to truely know and understand what this site is really all about. I bet there are a lot of members here who really have no idea. So .... WHAT IS THIS SITE NOW ABOUT !??? I can remember in June last year very few of us would chat on here. Nice to see that that has belt up a bit, but now it appears that just the same old people come here, myself included. IS THERE SOMETHING WE SHOULD BE DOING TO TRY AND ENTICE MORE PEOPLE IN THE CHATBOX. There are supposed 1500 members here yet how many do we really see in the chatbox ??? Think about it. People in other parts of Korea really have no association here either. Some have said that its a demographic thing.... you know....everyone supposedly lives in Seoul and all that. Well hear this. How about the Seoul Demographic start planning a few activities outside their own backyard ??? There are of course many factors that do need consideration here admittedly. And yes its not always easy to do. Take that as more of a suggestion if you wish. Instead of just being moths going to the central flame all the time, how about being a black sheep and stirring shit up and causing some real ripples. and yeh take that as a suggestion too isf you like. Sure its not an easy thing to do ..... Lol just ask any one trying to do anything in Daegu - Personal issues, schedules and desires both aside and considered. But I am sure if a few of the Seoul celebs came down, or indeed went to Daejeon, Busan and the like.... the word would get out fairly quickly. And this site would be a real iluvkorea not just iluvseoul. At least the cliques here have not dominated too much. People here seem to respect and tolerate each other to a strong degree. I guess mindless chatter is also fairly prominent here also. Oh well shit hardens. But a big neg to that is that here we have the same people doing the same ol thing, talking about the same ol shit, and yes I have to admit I am guilty of that too. I think we need to break our little mould of security that we have here. I know from my own experience that its not very productive to use sites like this as personal security for ones stay in Korea so to speak. Any way thats the tip of the iceberg for ya. What are your opinions on this !?!?!?! 20 Comments•Login to add comment•Jump to newest comment (10 secs ago)Hi James

Hi James
It\'s a productive comment or point.
Well...I know I\'ve been lazy...to visit Daegu for example. I\'m from Daegu and all my married friends (except one) ask me to come over but I feel like I am busy...bla bla bla.
Hm...I guess it will be good to organize some trip or activity out of Seoul. (Even Seoul ones...I don\'t go all the time..though)
Well said! I like your progressive attitude!

maybe the site worked a l

maybe the site worked a little too well, and folks found some regularly scheduled things they\'re involved with now.... like personally, I always had church - but now I have gayageum class on saturdays too - which trumps any plans distant from Seoul.
but also as a clueless foreigner, it\'s difficult to plan a trip to a place you know nothing about. like I\'m sure there\'s plenty to do in Busan or Daegu... but where? I\'d hate to waste 70,000 on a KTX ticket to just wander around all day, ya know...
but I think ultimately it takes a lot of networking time to overcome that... if I foudn the time to crack open my travel book and find an attraction in Daegu - you, hyena, englishrose would be first on my list to ask questions... Likewise, for Busan, I would ask people in my Seoul church who know people in the Busan church who could prepare my arrival - so time is well spent.

We should tell all our friends about it! I have told a few friends of mine about the site and now they are online. We chat in the chat box from time to time just for the fun of it. Well I gotta get to work lol...

my wife aliska really enjoys this site and she got me hooked on this site as well.she told me that it is a site for esl teachers and other english speaking people that are in korea or are planning to come to korea.but i have noticed from time to time the little extreme guests or what not that have come into the chat room and i have also been quilty of joking around with aliska from time to time in the chat room as well but i think that makes it more interesting instead of speaking about the same thing over nd over again..and about the site becoming kind of dull aliska has been kind of busy ..maybe that is why..hahaha...i miss her too she has been working too much lately ...aliska if you read this hurry home and stop teaching so many private classes ...

and about the distance be

and about the distance between seoul and daegu..i met aliska in september for the first time in seoul but i lived in daegu then but we used to visit each other 4 or 5 times a week.and to tell you the truth i never really noticed the distance too much it is actually a very short trip and hey you never know what can happen when you go out of the city that you are in..and daegu really is a cool place and there are not many foreigners compared to seoul. also i felt that the people there were more down to earth and friendlier..and i really like the night life there..so if there is an event i think that a lot of you would really be pleasantly surprised by your visit there.

Yeah, I just sleep on it. *laughs* Feels like an instant that way!
And the nightlife here in Daegu...well, can\'t say that it\'s terribly great if you like clubbing, but I love the bars here. There\'s one by Keimyung Uni East Gate that I pretty much consider my second home; I love it. =)

I\'m more interested in what residents of Daegu would personally want to take a visitor to see... that supercedes the guide book a bit.
I don\'t mean to put you on the spot, but you brought up the topic and said Daegu is great - where would you take a visitor? It can\'t just be bars and nightclubs... nobody goes to those places during the daytime anyway.
